Temple Joys in Paris, France

The Paris (Versailles) Temple

One of the greatest joys of our mission is to be able to attend the temple.  The temple in Frankfurt, which is only a fifteen minute drive from us, is closed for renovations.  We are fortunate however to have four temples within the travel distance we are allowed on this mission--Freiberg, Germany; The Hague, Netherlands; Bern, Switzerland; Paris, France.  In May, we were able to attend the Paris Temple which is located in beautiful Versailles, France, just outside Paris.

Unlike most temples, the Paris Temple is directly on a main street.  This is the beautiful entrance.

This is a view from the inner courtyard of the temple.

This Christis statue is in the temple courtyard.  It is a favorite place to take group pictures.

In the courtyard. the visitor center is the building at the back and the temple is off to the right of the picture.

The public is welcome in this beautiful courtyard and in the visitor center.  Many of the neighbors who live in the apartments surrounding the temple have commented on the peace they feel viewing the temple, the gardens and the Christis from their homes.

Beautiful windows

We feel the light and power of our covenants when we are at the temple.  We also feel the nearness of our family here on earth and beyond the veil as we serve them.  It is a feeling of home and family that unites us and renews us and nourishes our souls.
